VET SCIENCE FOR KIDS
We offer "Vet Science" classes here at the hospital. These classes are free and open to kids 9 years old and up. The classes are partially in response to the huge demand we have from kids to spend time around the hospital and see what we do. We recognize that many children lack opportunity for enrichment in the areas of science, medicine, and animal husbandry.
Classes can include viewing x-rays, discussing cases in the hospital, examining surgical equipment and lab equipment, autopsies, live surgery, live exams of the dog, cat, and horse, and answering large numbers of questions.
Since space is limited to a maximum of 40 participants, we ask that you call ahead to reserve space if your child has an interest. Your child's friends are welcome to attend as well. The children are well supervised while on the premises, and we are happy to have you drop your child off and come back in an hour to pick them up.
